Rhopoint IQ-S Webinar – May 27, 2020

May 20, 2020 by admin

Join us May 27, 2020 (2-3pm) as Mark Lombardi – Technical Support Manager,
Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc gives an in-depth look on how to measure surface appearance using the Rhopoint IQ-S.

Where standard gloss meters only measure gloss, the Rhopoint IQ-S is an effective solution for detection and measurement of all surface
imperfections.

The Rhopoint IQ-S provides key measurement of not only Gloss but also Reflectance Haze, Distinctness of Image, Reflected Image Quality, and
Goniophotometric Profile. Additionally IQ-S gloss measurement performance isone of the top in this class. It is designed and built with close tolerance. The instrument provides gloss data of 3 angles 20/60/85°.

At this webinar, you will learn:

  • Why the 60 degree angle is standard angle to use to determine when
to use 20 or 85 degree for your samples
  • How samples with the same color and gloss can still have a different
    appearance
  • How RIQ can improve your process
  • Why the logHaze function will allow some users to keep using current
    data/specifications

Please let us know if you have any additional applications you wish to
discuss or if you have questions:

Konica Minolta Sensing – Upcoming Seminars 2020

February 11, 2020 by admin

About Our Seminars

Join Konica Minolta Sensing for a seminar on the evaluation and control of product color.

Color & Appearance seminars cover the fundamentals of color science and the elements to an effective color process within research and manufacturing environments. These educational seminars are attended by industry professionals with job functions in controlling the color quality, consistency, and appearance of their products or samples. Hosted by a Konica Minolta Sensing color expert, each attendee will leave with a solid understanding of color and the components required for evaluating, communicating, and controlling color internally or throughout the supply chain to meet standards and organizational goals more efficiently.

At the end of the seminar, attendees are encouraged to interact with our experts for technical advice, tips, color and appearance assessments, and networking to stay connected after the event. If interested in having our expert assess the color and appearance of your product or application, please bring in a sample to the seminar.

Micronization and Nanoization of Pharmaceutical Substances

July 18, 2019 by admin

Pharma Technical Seminar

September 23-24, 2019 Exton Pa

In the “Micronization and Nanonization of Pharmaceutical Substances” seminar, the essential operating parameters of agitator beads mills will be discussed and presented in a logical context. Possible solutions for process optimization will be shown. The process will be considered holistically from cleaning and sterilization to predispersion and micronization, through packaging. How a process developed on a laboratory scale can be transposed to an actual production scale will be discussed.

Topics of Discussion

  • Characterizing the significance of comminuition
  • Terms and Definitions
  • Overview of mixing, wetting, and dispersing processes
  • Overview of NETZSCH grinding systems; agitator bead mills
  • Effect of different process parameters
  • Model of the load energy and number of impacts
  • Effect of the dwell time distribution
  • Griding media selection and scale-up
  • Calculation from laboratory to production scale
  • Limitations of wet grinding
  • True comminution and gentle dispersion
  • Summary and Discussion

Dispersion Basics

April 6, 2018 by admin

During most process application discussions, I am asked for “rules of thumb” related to disperser / dissolver application. This Morehouse Cowles presentation offers many of the practical tips to consider when specifying a wetting application.
